Signal/Noise: This Is Not A Podcast - Statement Of Intent

Get one thing straight, this is not a podcast.

Now that we have that established, we can go on to say what exactly this is.

In an attempt to have some sort of creative outlet in my increasingly non-creative world, I have made this... thing. Yes, it uses podcast software, and it behaves exactly like a podcast. But don't let that fool you, this is definitely not a podcast. There are no episodes, no talking, no theme, no hosts, none of that.

What this is is a place where I will be posting different bits of things. My hard drive is crammed full of musical fragments, half-realized pieces and unfinished projects. That is what you can expect to see here. If I ever do actually write and record a song, it will show up here as well. Though, I wouldn't hold my breath.

It is very difficult if you aren't trying to make or sell records or pack seats in venues, to define your goal in terms of music. I've actually asked myself for years, what is the point? What am I tryign to do? And I guess the answer is simply, nothing. Which is not to say that I am doing nothing, just that I don't have a purpose in what I am doing.

Maybe with the organization and public nature of this site, some sort of purpose will emerge. That might be cool, but in the meantime, you are welcome to observe my purposelessness, leave comments about it, and post contributions of your own.
